Examination & Promotion

Three examinations are held on the days indicated in the Calendar. Though the corrected answer booklets may under no circumstances be taken home, parents are welcome to go-through them over in school on the day mentioned in the Calendar.

Classwork and internal marking: Class work which consists of oral work, written work previously prepared at home and class tests will be taken into consideration for the examination and promotion.

For Std. VIII and IX, the criteria for passing in each subject is 40 percent while in other classes it is 35 percent. Promotion will be decided on the final Report obtained by adding the average of the three Examinations and dividing by two.

Only those students who pass in all subjects in the final Result have a right to be promoted according to the school promotion rules, approved by the educational authorities.

One Merit Card per standard and per subject is given to the students who secures the highest marks in that subject, provided he/she does not get less than two thirds of the total marks in the subject and provided he/she passes in all the other subjects.

One General Proficiency card per standard is given to the student who gets the highest total marks, provided he/she does not get less than two third of the grand total and provided he/she passed in all subjects.
If a student forfeits a card, the card goes to the student next in merit provided he/she fulfills the conditions.

Students failing in Std. X or XII Board Examination must fill up their forms the following day of the results.
